It's the little details...

I was trying to see if the hair would come of Eddy and saw that under the hair he had his ears and detail on the scalp. thought the same thing about their detail. I've noticed this on other McFarlane figures underneath something that you dont see the detail on unless you pull it up and look. no, not for nads or anything.

In spite of the not-too-positive reviews on Series 23 (Mutations) Malbogia, the human faces on its back is beautifully done.

You know, when repainting figures and doing customs, I often find myself noticing details on figures that I never paid attention to before, and I really love it. It's like when you do one of those puzzles where you have to find hidden pictures, etc.

And it really makes me love McF toys even more, as they take the time to add the small little details that really set aside their sculpts from the rest.

Case in point - and this is a little older of a figures too (S12): Spawn IV. As I am working on the final paint of my custom, I noticed this on the bottom of his left boot:



The skull in the middle! I never paid attention to that before (and I've had one of these figures opened on a shelf since it came out), mostly because you never really see that part when he's just standing there, plus it was all solid black. But it's a great little added detail, don't ya think? So naturally I had to paint it more to make it stand out.

I love finding stuff like that! It's kind of like how I first figured out that Hellspawn's gun had that little flipscreen thing on the side that I had never noticed...

I love those details as well. It also evident when they take care to sculpt the parts of the figure that are not visible. For instance, Medieval Spawn III, remove his cape (like I did) and it's fully sculpted underneath. Same for Halloween Spawn. The skull in Santa Spawn's bag.
